It’s a Thing 3.15.19

  1. My husband made a huge pot of chili last weekend that we’ve been eating all week. It’s the perfect meal for our slightly chilly weather. I love creating a big toppings bar of things you can individually add to your bowl. img_1054
  2. I’ve been shipping a lot of things this week (mostly things I’ve sold online) and discovered that not all scotch tape is created equal. I have started using Scotch Sure Start and it is so much better. I especially love that it is much quieter when I am taping up my boxes (normally quite a noisy process).
  3. There have been so many big things happening in the news this week. I’ve been trying to keep up with all the developing stories by listening to Up First in the mornings on my way to work and reading theSkimm while I brush my teeth. I love both of these news platforms for quickly getting what you need to know before you start your day.
  4. I am very excited about our new TubShrooms that are going to be arriving in the mail today. I know it’s kind of silly to get excited about a tub drain protector, but taking a shower with a stopped up drain is the worst!

  1. I’ve been following along with the Iditapod for the last couple of weeks and have to admit I never thought I’d be so invested and enthralled with the Iditarod race. Definitely have Blair Braverman and the #uglydogs to thank. If you haven’t heard of her, please do yourself a favor and also check out her book and #musherTwitter!

  2. Work was nonstop for me this week and a few of my regular life things fell to the wayside to make room for the extra stress. (i.e. blog posts?! Will need to up my game once I have room to breathe again!) Definitely need to take some “self care” time (I hate that term, but it feels so necessary right now) this weekend. Cue the candle-lit epsom salt baths and some cucumber slices on my eyes.
  3. I like this Millennial Money Man resource for personal finance terms. Even though it’s coined as words and phrases “every millennial needs to know,” I think it can be helpful for someone of any age to bookmark!
  4. I have subscribed to Lucie’s List, “a survival guide for new moms” since the wee weeks of Baby Beep and love getting the weekly deep dives on different parts of a new baby. Up this week: best in carriers. Her newsletters read like Wirecutter for all things baby! I feel much more informed this many weeks in (32!! ahh!) after all the info she’s delivered. Highly recommend for expectant mothers!
