  1. Last weekend we celebrated my 30th birthday with mocktails in Downtown LA. It was a little late because I was in Hawaii for my actual birthday, but so fun to get together with friends and celebrate the milestone!img_1775.jpg
  2. I am completely mesmerized by this dad’s hacks for keeping up with his quintuplets.
  3. My husband and I have both been listening to The Birth Hour podcast in preparation for our baby in November. I love that he’s on board to listen to the episodes too and it’s making me feel much more prepared to hear so many different stories of birth.
  4. The new season of Veronica Mars is available now, a whole week early! I’m a huge fan of the original series and can’t want to catch up on what’s been happening in Neptune.
  5. I am committing all of this weekend to de-cluttering and am so excited to get our apartment in shape. I finally took the plunge and bought a daybed for our guest room / nursery. I’ve been trying to decide which one to get for a few weeks now. Hopefully putting it together will be easy :/

  1. With five different “lenses” to help determine if you’re having a bad day or have found yourself in a bad job, I really loved this article’s many ways to think about your career happiness.2019-07-17 13.57.30
  2. Two different data visualizations in my roundup this week. Up first: a friend sent me this gif visualizing how much fuel a Saturn 5 used per second in terms of elephants. Elephants bounce rather well in this gif! Also, wow, that’s a lot of fuel, and I’m very impressed at the math behind figuring this out.
  3. Thoughts and conversations about baby sleep have pretty much taken over my life. The whole new parent game seems to be centered around which products, environments, and associations will maximize the amount of sleep your baby (and also you) can get. I loved this knitted visualization of a baby’s first year in sleep! Baby Ernie just outgrew his newborn-sized swaddles so we’re sizing up to this version so that we can also transition to arms-out soon!
  4. I love pretty much everything that Blair Braverman tweets, but this one really stuck out to me. She often speaks on the body positivity platform, and I love that she’s thought about it in terms of the athleticism of her pups, too! Also just so much love to Flame, she’s so sweet and funny.
