  1. Colby is finally starting to sleep longer stretches at night and I am getting some much-needed rest. I am loving the halo sleep sacks and the halo bassinest. Since he could roll over really early, we really appreciated the arms out swaddle and I love the mesh sides of the bassinest so that I can look right through to him.Burger at Ladies Brunch
  2. I am getting out of the house a bit more now that my “fourth trimester” is coming to a close and Colby has his shots. I was able to sneak away by myself for a few hours and have brunch with girlfriends, greatly enjoyed ordering a burger “medium” instead of well done as I had to do during pregnancy!
  3. I’ve started getting campaign calls and can’t believe it’s already time to start thinking about the election! I loved theSkimm’s 2020 election website that covers all of the presidential candidates and of course their daily news updates via the awesome newsletter that they put out.
  4. Tax season is right around the corner. I’m always surprised by how many forms I get in the mail (yay side hustles!) that I need to account for. I was surprised to see that Chase sends out 1099s for credit card referral bonuses and waived annual fees.

  1. My friends’ wedding was posted on Lover.ly this week and I swooned all over again reliving the details. This wedding, in particular, was very memorable for me because it happened on the same day I found out I was pregnant! Will never forget their anniversary now.

  2. I finished Chanel Miller’s ‘Know My Name‘ this week and have so many thoughts and feelings. It was certainly a hard book to read, but in the best way possible. I remember when Emily Doe’s statement was released, feeling the same way: weighted in a way of knowing its importance, wanting to spotlight it, but also wanting to tuck it into bed with a cup of tea and box of cookies. Her writing is remarkably poignant.
  3. I went to a conference this week at the Convene space in downtown Los Angeles. It’s a modern meeting, coworking, and events space and I can’t speak highly enough of my experience there! They had the best mother’s room I’ve experienced so far and the staff was beyond helpful in getting me set up to use it. Also, conference food has a pretty bad rap (hello standard chicken breast with a veggie side), but Convene’s lunch was anything but boring — butternut squash soup, many different salads and wrap sandwiches to choose from, and blondie cakes I went back for more than once. 😋
  4. I’ve had my yoga membership on hold for a few months at first because we were traveling and I wouldn’t be here to use it, and then when we got back, I grabbed a New Year’s deal at a Basecamp location for two months. I’m really enjoying the circuit workouts, but having two workout class memberships definitely isn’t tenable for my budget, so now… I have to choose!
