It’s A Thing 5.3.20

  1. I made my own naan this week! It was so fun to make and so much easier than I expected. I paired it with an extremely easy Indian dish – this simmer sauce is magic. Just add meat or veggies and dinner is done! img_4111
  2. We did a whole post this week about our favorite toys for year one. Colby is teething and really loving this lemon teether (gifted to us by Laura and Ernie!) and Sophie the Giraffe. It’s so fun to see him have little white teeth poking through his bottom gums.
  3. My husband and I have been watching The Good Fight and it is so good! We were big fans of The Good Wife but hadn’t watched the sequel yet. I highly recommend both shows, they are great!
  4. If you are local to LA, I highly recommend checking out Golden Road Brewery for your grocery needs. They have a really great curbside pickup and excellent deals on food and beer. They also have items in stock that I’ve struggled to find elsewhere: flour, yeast, eggs, and toilet paper!

  1. Ernie turned ONE this past Wednesday and I am having quite the time coming to terms with the fact that I’m a mother to a one year old! We did a lot of special things to make the day feel celebratory. I decorated our dining room, we put together a new baby-sized picnic table, played outside in our kiddie pool and with bubbles, and, of course, had cake! I used this recipe and added sprinkles to make funfetti from scratch with this chocolate icing.2020-04-28 21.22.59
  2. Today is my 4 year anniversary of owning our two pet rabbits, Chicken and Waffles! We got them when they were about a year old, per our vet, so we “celebrate” their birthday on this day, too. They’ve gotten a bit overshadowed by the baby, but they got to run around in our yard a bunch this afternoon and had a few extra treats.
  3. I like this list of ‘68 Bits of Unsolicited Advice.’ Definitely a good list to read through and see how your life is panning out so far.
  4. I’ve been bouncing around with an exercise regimen during these quarantimes. I’ve been referencing our post about online fitness options, but also throwing in some interval workouts where I run up and down the hill I live on and do weight lifting, squats, pushups, and situps in between runs.
