  1. Colby’s first half birthday is next week and I am so excited!! Half birthdays have always been something to celebrate in my family and I can’t wait to pass on the tradition.

  2. I am very excited to try Porto’s Bakery’s new Bake at Home option! I ordered some of my favorites for delivery next week. It’s fun to see how companies are getting innovative to keep business during the stay-at-home orders. This is one of my favorite spots in LA and I am thrilled to not have to stand in line to get my favorite treats!
  3. Colby has been very into books lately! He loves listening to my husband read out loud from “boring adult books” and babbles along with him as he reads. He also loves to hold them and is even getting pretty good at “turning pages” of his board books. His favorites are these little finger puppet ones and anything high contrast.
  4. On my reading list, this month is Hungry Monkey (we are starting solids!) and I am finally reading Cribsheet (Emily Oster’s book about birth to year 3).

  1. Ernie had his one year pediatrician appointment this week. It was definitely nerve wracking to go, but at the same time, I don’t want him to get behind on any vaccines. So I wore my mask (he cried the whole hour we were there, I think because everyone wearing masks freaked him out??), used a lot of hand sanitizer, etc. all the things. It felt important to go but was for sure mentally hard and exhausting. I would ask that any readers that are parents, please keep your kids shots on schedule! The pandemic is not an excuse for a different, highly preventable outbreak.

  2. I added this to our ‘Stay at Home Coronavirus Shopping List‘ post, but I’ve really been loving our “easy-up” sun shade tent for hanging out in our backyard with Ernie. The California sun can be brutal and it’s nice having such a truly easy way to keep him cool.
  3. Appreciated Carly’s list of “books when you need an escape.” I’ve been reading up a storm during quarantine and I think a lot of that is to give my brain a break from the news and current events.
  4. It’s my husband’s birthday tomorrow and he’s been on a super big cocktail experimentation kick so I got him this mini library of cocktail recipes. Very excited to get to be his taste tester!
