  1. We’ve been taking so many walks lately, it’s really fun to show Colby nature and watch his face as he takes in the new landscape. I am still obsessed with this sunhat we’ve already grown through three sizes of them and I just keep buying him a new one because they are so great. I also bought him one of these little baby baseball caps just for fun and it is insanely cute on him.

    My new view 🙂
  2. I’ve been closely following the airline mask requirement news and am very impressed by Delta’s continued strong stance. But it’s nice to see other airlines stepping up too as our situation worsens.
  3. I joined a book club! The first book is Devil’s Teeth by Susan Casey. Very excited to start reading and then get together for a zoom call to discuss.
  4. I think the biggest thing I miss about big city life (other than Laura, of course!) is getting take out. I love cooking at home but I am the primary cook and it gets tiring so take out night is my night off. I love to explore new foods and see what others put together. We closely follow the recommendations from the WHO and I am extra cautious about washing my hands and handling food packaging. I am impressed by how restaurants have stepped up to do curbside and contactless pickup.
  5. Colby has six teeth already and two more are coming in right now! He had his first teething fever and even though he handled it like a champ, I was a mess. We had lots of snuggles and played with all his favorite toys. These are his favs at the moment: Skip Hop Shakers, Sensory Balls, and if all else fails — a whisk!

  1. We have six cherry tomato plants in our garden this year, and… things have gotten extreme. We’re overloaded with tomato harvest so I’ve been branching out on recipes to try using lots of them at once. I made this tomato jam this week and oh boy is it delicious! Been using it on sandwiches and as a dip with crackers and cucumbers.2020-07-21 09.50.41
  2. Really appreciated this podcast episode on vaccines from In the Bubble with Andy Slavitt. I feel like there’s so much misinformation being spread about when we can expect a vaccine, how likely it is to work, and what the resulting timeline on quarantine rules are. This was a great primer on what we can expect in the coming months.
  3. I signed up with Crooked Media’s Vote Save America campaign and adopted North Carolina in honor of Stella’s move. This upcoming week I’m text banking to share how to sign up for the vote by mail capability.
  4. I feel like a disagreement between my husband and I comes up at least once a month about what region of the United States a certain state is in. He has wildly incorrect thoughts on what constitutes both the midwest and the south. Thank goodness there’s finally a guide I can bring up to prove I’m (always) right. 🙃
  5. Visited a tiny museum in our neighborhood this week, such a fun stay-at-home idea to create their very own roadside attraction.
