It’s A Thing 5.21.21

1. We’ve settled into our newest rental in Black Mountain, NC and I’m very excited about the yoga studio we have all to ourselves. It’s been a very long time since I had a consistent workout routine and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of things.

2. My husband has been working on the Rugrats reboot for the last 2 years and it is finally coming to air on Paramount+ next weekend! I am so excited and proud to see his name in the written by credits.

3. Tomorrow is my wedding anniversary and now that we’ve passed our 2-week mark of being fully vaccinated, my husband and I are actually going out for date night! We are going to go outdoor dining while my sister watches Colby. It’s been over a year since we went out just the two of us and I can’t wait.

4. This week I read Dial A for Aunties and though I didn’t love it at the beginning, by the end, I couldn’t put it down. The plot was ridiculous … so once I accepted that it wasn’t real life, I was able to roll with the story and enjoy the silly. Their many trips to get dim sum made me miss Los Angeles like crazy, can’t wait to go back to Din Tai Fung.

1. Drooling over this beautiful pie instagram account lately! I used to bake a lot more before having a kid and it’s something that is slowly coming back into my repertoire. Definitely feeling inspired to put a little more effort into what the end product looks like thanks to Lauren.

2. A friend of mine from college, Zac Wolf, is an amazing wedding photographer. Previously based in Boston, he and his wife are making a big move to Florida and he’s taking lots of roads to try to drum up new business in his new locale. I love following his blog and Instagram as a way to see myriad wedding aesthetics! His roundup of 2020 was especially lovely, as he obviously had some out-of-the-norm weddings to accomodate the pandemic (micro-weddings!) and did lots more family shoots, graduation and other parties, etc.

3. We switched over to doing Hello Fresh meal kit deliveries (to take advantage of an intro offer) and I’ve been enjoying them a lot more than I remembered having used the company before. We’ve cycled through a few different kit deliveries over the last few weeks and so far Hello Fresh has impressed me the most with their combination of delicious and filling meals, lack of plastic packaging, and introducing inventive cooking techniques to me. (Use my referral link for $90 off your first deliveries!)

4. I made these muffins to bring over to a new mom friend last week. I kept a couple for snacks for myself for the week and they’re super delicious — such a nice little indulgence while still being relatively light.
