Podcasts Week: Daily Life

“Daily Life” is for sure our catch-all category, and the same goes for this podcast list. We both listen to lots and have some tried-and-true favorites that couldn’t be missed, so here they are!

Claire and Erica are the ladies behind Of A Kind and they are fantastic podcast hosts. They usually spend the first 5 – 10 minutes talking of each episode about products they use and love. And then they get serious and talk about life. They cover everything from drinking wine to choosing (or not choosing) motherhood to maximizing credit card points. They have awesome guests and prepare for the interviews extremely well. We love their podcast and can’t wait to see what they talk about next!

A great one to inspire any hopeful-entrepreneurs out there, The Skimm founders, Carly and Danielle, take some of the lessons they’ve learned from starting a business and parlay them into question to other women who have succeeded in the start-up and business worlds. Some of our favorite episodes so far have been with the founders of Man Repeller, Rent the Runway, Spanx, Baked by Melissa, and Weight Watchers.

13Call Your Girlfriend

Hosts Amina and Ann are long-distance besties, and this podcast serves as their weekly check-in and catch-up on all things personal, political, and beyond. They’re a great entry point to what’s going on in the world of feminism, what self-care products you should try out, and we can’t rave enough about their book recommendations (which often come alongside an interview with the author!).

A much more standard NPR show, On The Media is a weekly show (usually with another weekly “podcast extra” just for subscribers) focusing on a highlight or two from the current news and how media coverage of it has shaped the public’s perception. Hosts Brooke Gladstone and Bob Garfield have been leading the charge since the show aired on WNYC in 1993, so they have quite the history to draw on and a stellar back-and-forth relationship.

The Moth has been around since 1997 and a podcast since 2008. It’s a personal story podcast with storytellers from all backgrounds and levels. The first-time storytellers work closely with The Moth team to craft their tales and this podcast even hosts live storytelling events around the world where you can go listen to the top stories in person. It’s full of so many amazing tales and personal takes on every kind of situation you can imagine.
