  1. Right after Colby was born, Laura brought over quiche and muffins and they were two of the best gifts we received in our early parenthood. Easy to eat at any time of day and packed full of delicious ingredients. I was never much of a quiche person prior to this but now I can’t stop making them, they are the perfect eat anytime meal that is easy to customize, reheat and enjoy. img_2561
  2. I love this article for restaurant suggestions on the drive from LA to Palm Springs. So often travel articles like this focus on the destination but there is so much to be seen on the way there!
  3. My husband upgraded our Roku to the new Roku Streaming Stick with a Black Friday deal. I didn’t realize how much we needed an upgrade until we had it. The quality of the video is much better and I love the ability to use my phone as a remote and listen via AirPods to what’s playing on the TV if I am watching alone and don’t want to disturb the rest of my family.
  4. I really enjoyed this episode of NPR’s Parenting Life Kit podcast all about talking to your kids about sex and being comfortable with their bodies. Though it’s obviously really early for us to be thinking about having “the talk” with our little one, there are some great actionable tips for brand new parents for setting the stage for an easy conversation down the road.

  1. I made these pretzel shortbread cookies for a potluck at work this week. I love the lye-less recipe, and they definitely did not disappoint!2019-11-30 19.52.31
  2. With the end of the year fast approaching, I’m reviewing all of our donations and making a few more to get in before 2020 arrives. Reminder that monetary donations are great, but there are plenty of other ways to donate!
  3. My husband, baby, and I are flying to New Hampshire tomorrow to spend some time with my family for the holidays. Ernie and I will be there for three weeks; Jacob is flying back a few days early to be back for work. I’m a bit nervous about both flights, but especially the one home when I will be the only parent! Ernie hasn’t watched anything on a screen before, but we are loading up the iPad with a few colorful, animated options to use as a last resort if there are any meltdowns on the plane…
  4. I’m just a few books away from reading 75 for the year! I wasn’t sure if this year would deliver a lot more or a lot less time for reading with our new addition, but I ended up blowing my goal of 50 out of the water. I love Goodread’s end-of-year list on favorite or most-read books, always gives me some inspiration for the upcoming year!
