It’s A Thing 8.2.19

  1. Last week I posted a photo from my baby shower but since then several of our photographer friends have sent us more so I decided to include another one in this week’s It’s A Thing as well. My mom asked my husband to read The Wonky Donkey to our new baby out loud in front of everyone. It was the perfect baby-themed activity that didn’t feel forced or out of place. We can’t wait to read this book to our little one once he arrives!img_1883
  2. I am always trying to think of money-saving tips for all things baby related. I really appreciated this article from What To Expect that covers all of the big purchases ahead.
  3. My office always spends a week during the summer cleaning our office, de-cluttering and prepping for the next year. We celebrate the end of the week with a potluck and take our dishes very seriously. Usually, there are at least three crock pots going and a slew of breakfast goodies out before computers are even turned on for the day. This year I decided to make these cute little pizza squares. I loved how easy they were to put together and they were a big hit at the office.
  4. I am slowly binging my way through all of the old seasons of Grey’s Anatomy. I am a late fan of the show but really enjoying the ever-interesting story-lines. Once I finish this I need to re-visit an old post that Laura and I wrote about what to do after Scandal to see if there are any other hits I’ve missed.

  1. We’re up in Seattle for a wedding this weekend and were very lucky that my in-laws came with, which means we’ll be baby free for the ceremony and reception! I’m psyched to have a night out! This morning we did a small hike in Discovery Park, and in prepping to come and see if we would be able to do it with a baby, I found GoStrollers.com, a resource for baby-friendly activities in Seattle… now to find the Los Angeles equivalent! img_6576
  2. This post from ItSmudges reminded me that I want to try Meow Meow Tweet organic deodorant cream. I already use thinkbaby sunscreen for Ernie, now I’ll need to try out thinksport for me!
  3. Loved Blair Braverman’s rundown of active, bra-friendly dresses for outdoorsy ladies, but even more so loved this engagement-style photo shoot that came out of it with her and her pup!
  4. Our airbnb in Seattle is less than half a mile from Hale’s Brewery and Bad Jimmy’s Brewery. Coupled with the fact that my friend who is getting married is entrenched in the Seattle wine industry, I am seriously looking forward to some new-to-me PNW sips!
