It’s a Thing 11.1.19

  1. It’s pumpkin season! I celebrated by making pumpkin soup and wearing this cute maternity shirt I bought on Poshmark (similar one can be found here). fd5c31d6-f479-4178-9680-88eb47e829e8.jpg
  2. I am officially on maternity leave this week and it’s been weird to be at home with so little to do. I feel fully prepped for baby’s arrival so I’ve been trying to fill my time with projects for me and things around the house. I am still a week from my due date so have plenty of time to fill! It’s been smoky here so staying indoors has been a priority which makes staying active even harder. I’ve been trying to spend lots of time on my yoga ball and keeping up with exercise as best I can.
  3. Very excited that the new season of Silicon Valley is starting again. It’s a show that my husband and I love to watch together so it’s nice to have a weekly thing we can look forward to.
  4. I love the new line of plaid Rothy’s, such a great fall addition to the great styles they already have. Be sure to also check out my post on how to earn free pairs with their rewards program!

  1. Stella’s husband, Sam, has been reading the book ‘The Orchid and the Dandelion: Why Some Children Struggle and How All Can Thrive‘ by Dr. W. Thomas Boyce and I’ve loved hearing about the details regarding child rearing. I was psyched to see the author on this week’s Art of Manliness podcast, Dandelion Children vs. Orchid Children, and it turned out to be a great listen as an overview of his book.

    Baby hiking!
  2. Love the look of these “Choose Your Own Adventure” granola bars from Molly Yeh. I’ve loved following her journey with Baby Bernie, as we’ve hit a lot of the same milestones at the same time. This post in particular made me laugh because I can 100% empathize with chopping all the vegetables I’ll need for a week during one of Ernie’s naps 😂.
  3. This article from LinkedIn is targeted at UK readers, but I am hopeful that the trend of talking about fertility at work will carry over to the United States, as well. In writing our post about open enrollment and getting pregnant, I came upon lots of similarly shocking and disappointing stats about mothers at work.
  4. Carly behind The Prepster did a great deep dive on blogging partnerships, particularly during the holiday season. It’s a great read to get a behind-the-scenes view of her job!
